Framing Your RC Gorman Artwork

Made using a special process, our Giclees are an affordable alternative to R.C. Gorman originals. Our Giclees are the highest quality reproductions of R.C. Gorman’s original artwork available anywhere making it very difficult to tell the difference between the Giclees and the originals. Please be aware of cheaply priced counterfeit “knock offs” available on the internet. You can be assured that when you purchase from the R.C. Gorman Navajo Gallery, you are buying from the “Only Official Authorized Source” for artwork from the R.C. Gorman Estate.

Edges are hand-torn to remain consistent with the artist’s aesthetic intent.  They are printed on 100% cotton rag paper with150-year archival ink so that they can be enjoyed for years to come.

The cotton paper has a much longer life span than commonly found with cheaper printing papers. Although more expensive, the long fiber strands of the cotton give the paper the strength to withstand rougher handling without easily tearing. RC. Gorman Navajo Gallery Giclees can better withstand the changes in humidity and temperature.

Giclees accurately capture the colors and intent of the original art as closely as possible that not only can last for years …they can outlast the original!

If you purchase from one of our galleries, we offer a limited choice of customized quality framing options.  Contact one of our galleries for more information.

A well-chosen frame will elevate your artwork to look its best. If you are having your giclee framed yourself, we suggest using a local framer.  Find a shop with an excellent reputation.  A great framer is more able to assist you with the measurements.  Local framers tend to offer prices that are similar or the same price as online framers and often can be less expensive in the long run.

RC Gorman prints should be floated on the matting.  The matte should never touch the artwork itself, as often the acidity of the matte can damage the artwork.  The size of your matte and frame should be discussed with your framer and choice of matte and frame is a personal decision often based on your interior design preferences.  Remember it is the artwork that you are showcasing and not the frame.  Your choice of plexiglass or glass may work well.  Our Giclees are archival, but as with anything else direct sunlight can damage the matte and frame often more easily than the artwork.  If you are concerned about glare in a highly reflective space, you may wish to select art or museum glass.  If you need more information, do not hesitate to contact one of galleries.
